I've been trying to write this blog for over a week now and just can't seem to find enough hours in the day. It feels like life is on fast forward and I'd do anything for a pause button - even for just a few hours. Faith is doing great and continues to be a smiling happy girl (almost) all the time! The last few weeks have been filled with many "firsts" for her and we just love taking her places and introducing her to new things. She doesn't miss much of anything and makes new friends everywhere. Wherever we are she studies the things & people around her intently. I would love to know what is going on inside that little head. Most of the time she's probably thinking "Where are you people taking me now?". Some of her firsts have been: an Orioles game with mommy & pappy (she even made it onto the big screen), a ride on the DC metro to visit the DC Science & Engineering Festival (and now mommy & daddy know where every elevator is on the red line - traveling in general, but especially on the metro is VERY different with a stroller), a Friday night happy hour with daddy's work friends, a visit to the drive-in movies, west-coast visitors (Auntie Hannah & Uncle Kurt) and introducing them to MD hard shell crabs (she has a few years to wait before eating the crabs), and celebrating pop pop's 75th birthday! Whew - and that's just a few of the things we've done this month. And tomorrow Faith will have her first visit to the zoo! Her cousin Casey is visiting for the weekend and we are all taking the metro to the zoo. Lord help us with two kids on the train this time.
Faith is changing every day and is developing such a personality. She's just a happy girl as you can see in her pictures below. These days everything goes to her mouth: toys, rattles, fists and even her thumb. Based on that and the amount of drool coming out of her mouth, we think she might be starting the dreaded teething process - although there is no sign of teeth or even red gums yet so who knows. When she first started sucking her thumb she didn't realize she could bend her other fingers and kept poking herself in the face & eyes. It was super cute, but we felt bad laughing at her. It only took 24 hours for her to realize she could bend her fingers. Babies are so amazingly smart!
We hope you are all enjoying spring wherever you may be! Sending love from the Groves!
